My name is Omar Abouzara. I'm a songwriter, rapper, vocalist, and music consultant based in Italy. I didn't grow up in a musical family. I didn't show any particular gift as a kid. I fell in love with music at twelve, without warning, starting from hip hop, freestyle battles and jam sessions in Bologna and Milan. At fourteen I started studying the voice, and I haven't stopped since. Over the next eleven years I trained with some of the most respected names in the field, including Cheryl Porter, considered the number one vocal coach in the world, Giacomo Voli, vocalist of Rhapsody of Fire and finalist of The Voice Italy, and Danila Satragno, vocal coach to some of Italy's biggest artists. I studied at the Accademia di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale and at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and deepened my work in songwriting with Mario Fanizzi and others. My work has taken me in several directions. I founded a communications agency that collaborated with major brands and influencers. I wrote for All Music Italia after exposing a fraudulent record label that had targeted a young artist, which led to a direct introduction to the Warner Music Italia and ADA teams. I've worked in the studio on writing sessions, followed artists on tour across Italy and Europe, and collaborated on artistic integration projects in schools in Modena, recently i'm working with a The Voice Kids finalist and two Amici (italian talent show) singers. I believe talent is largely irrelevant. What matters is curiosity, consistency, and the willingness to sound bad for long enough to eventually sound good.
