My name is Lesley and I am a native English speaker, living now in Spain. For almost 18 years I have helped people with their conversational English. Both face to face, private individual lessons, and small groups. I aid with both ESL general conversation and with conversational and comprehension preparation for IELTS examinations. I also coach English for business and office thus allowing my students to feel comfortable using the language with customers face to face as well as on the phone, or virtual meetings. I trained using the L.A.M.D.A. Spoken English and Public Speaking Courses and bring the knowledge I learned during doing those certifications and the way I speak myself into aiding students to gain clarity of speech and pronunciation. In today’s world of virtual working, being able to speak clearly and feeling confident in English is even more important. Presentation coaching has become even more important and is part of what I can offer my students. I believe when learning any language, having a teacher who speaks that language as a native is very important, it allows the nuances of the language to be understood and explained. For me, I view every student as an individual, and thus their lessons - courses, with me, are created specifically to their needs, their speed of learning and in a way that is fun, interactive, and best suits their specific needs. While my own Spanish is not perfect by any means I can use it with a student if needed, however, I do try to keep lessons in English, using other ways of explaining a query if needed, this also aids in developing a wider knowledge of English and its native vocabulary.
