I have a master's degree in mathematics, an engineering degree and a PhD in climate science. I taught science at university for 3 years, and for the last 8 years I've been giving lessons at home for all levels in science. I decided to devote myself to one-to-one teaching because I find that giving a personalized lesson is more interesting. In my opinion, It's the best way to make progress. The best way to learn is to do exercises to learn the methods and apply the lesson. The course of the lesson varies depending on the student's needs, and can include explaining concepts that they haven't quite grasped, doing exercises, redoing an exam so that they understand their mistakes, or helping them to do a homework assignment. I always come to class with exercises on the chapter the student is studying. If we haven't done these exercises, the student can do them as homework for our next class.
