As the holder of a teaching diploma of the Greek language from the University of Aristotle of Thessaloniki and a Master 2 of research in Classical Letters from Paris IV-Sorbonne, I created learning supports specific to teaching Greek to French-speaking people based on my experience of teaching at home or on the Internet. My students are very diverse: children and adults, people who want to learn the Greek language as a foreign language or bilingual people or even Greeks who live abroad. We progress together from the beginner level to the most experienced level. In general, my methodology adapts to the needs, objectives and age of each student. I have created and continue to create interactive online exercises that make the learning process fun and enjoyable. With these, I also provide the diverse material necessary for the courses. Besides that, I also give more specialized courses: conversation courses for those who want to focus on their ability to communicate; courses on professional objectives for those who want to work in Greece; intensive courses for those who want to learn quickly to live or stay in Greece (ideal for the Erasmus program).

Ciao, mi chiamo Emanuele e studio psicologia. Ho un grande interesse per l'insegnamento. Mia madre e mia nonna erano insegnanti e lo sono le mie zie. Insomma, l'insegnamento ce l'ho nel sangue! Ho impartito ripetizioni di inglese, francese, italiano, latino e soprattutto greco quando ero al liceo Classico (ho un diploma conseguito a pieni voti!) e tutt'ora mi capita di supportare gli studenti perchè possano appassionarsi alla lingua Greca. Come dicevano i miei insegnanti: "se salvate una lingua e la sua storia, allora questa vi salverà". Padroneggiare una lingua vi rende liberi! Per quanto mi riguarda, amo la filologia classica, la storia, imparare nuove lingue, conoscere persone nuove, viaggiare... Mi appassionano le persone brillanti ma anche chi è, come diceva Aristotele, una "tabula rasa" e desideroso di imparare. Amo chi è umile e ha sete di conoscenza. Ho una certa propensione per la musica e l'arte (disegno a parte!): canto, suono il pianoforte, ascolto concerti. Per chi avesse piacere ad intraprendere questo viaggio, alla scoperta della lingua Greca, delle sue sfaccettature e della bellezza che ha in sè questa lingua classica, mi trova qui. Il mio insegnamento è adatto sia a chi ha un livello da principiante e base e vuole imparare il greco, passo dopo passo, sia a chi è ad un livello più avanzato e vuole padroneggiare la lingua, potenziandola nel migliore dei modi. Hi, my name is Jordan and I was born and raised in Athens, Greece. I studied at Harvard University, where I received a literary Bachelor of Arts degree and a distinction for translation into Attic Greek. I did post-graduate work in Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, and in translation theory at Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. I obtained a doctorate in philosophy at Université Paris 8. I have been active in international projects since my teens; and have served as a translator and (with an MA in economics) as a management executive in the United Nations system until retirement. I also speak German, can read Russian and Spanish, and am learning the rudiments of Mandarin Chinese. Teaching Ancient Greek has been to me a source of pleasure since college (when I coached classmates majoring in Classics) up to the present, as I familiarize committed learners with the workings and current relevance of that language. What makes that activity so rewarding is the unceasing give-and-take between Greek, in its long existence, and many other languages and cultures: given that ongoing exchange and affinities with other tongues, I enjoy sharing Greek as a particularly enlightening and elegant means of discussing matters that are still shaping the multilateral world we live in. Getting there, of course, presupposes proper acquaintance with Greek grammar and vocabulary. I offer grounding lessons (using a time-honoured Harvard textbook and a learner-friendly reader) as well as advanced textual and literary analysis to persons keenly interested in what has been said in Greek through the ages and in the pertinence of that to present-day issues, whether in relation to the arts and sciences or to our social and daily life. Depending on the learner's preference, I teach Ancient Greek with the current, living pronunciation or using the erudite phonation system known as "Erasmian" that was devised in the Renaissance.
