Hello! My name is Waqar Hussain Shah, and I am excited about the opportunity to be your online tutor. Currently, I am pursuing a doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Guadalajara. During my master's program, I delved into the complex world of Topological Data Analysis, focusing on the classification of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia cells, a common childhood blood cancer. This research was particularly challenging due to the morphological similarities between normal and immature leukemic blast cells. However, it provided me with a profound understanding of how advanced mathematical techniques can be applied to solve real-world problems.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I have practical research experience as a Research Assistant at FAST-National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences. Here, I worked on an impactful project that utilized the Stoic Dataset, created by Cochin Hospital Paris, to classify and predict the severity of COVID-19 in lungs using CT scan images. This project, part of the Stoic-Challenge-2021, honed my skills in data analysis, machine learning, and medical imaging, further broadening my expertise.
