About Me -------- Hello! My name is Vandro, I am an Indonesian native speaker and I am currently living in France to pursue my higher education in Social Sciences and Communication. I am a professional language teacher and community tutor for English, French, and Russian. I have been teaching for more than 3 years with a lot of international students from around the world. I am also certified in English and French as a foreign language. I also have my own language community in Indonesia that established in 2013 with more than 18.000 members around Indonesia. It's a community for language enthusiasts with the aim to support language practise in a fun and relaxed environment. It becomes an organization to use as a base to practise their language skills. Participants of my language community range over a wide variety of backgrounds and age: school children, high-school students, university students to entrepreneurs, researchers and working professionals. I am certain that this organization will contribute to a positive change to the young generation. I understand that being fluent in another language, especially English, can lead to great opportunities career-wise, as I am in this situation myself, and aim to support fellow English learners in honing their skills to the extent that they can get jobs in an English-speaking environment and feel at ease. Moreover, I am an anthropologist, so I can provide insight on how to live in another country and mingle with other cultures. It also means I can provide grounds for comparison between different languages to help understand the language and its strange concepts. I can include notions about gesture, tones and idioms that are also involved in communicating in English, but may be overlooked by many teachers. Teaching adults and teenagers is my preference, as this is where I have experience and because I want to customize my lessons in order to maintain high relevance, leading to constant motivation for learning. I know that learning a language is challenging, and I believe the challenge can be enjoyable when the lessons fit well in people's personal goals. In addition, I like to create pieces of art and visit modern art galleries. Enjoy all sports particularly football and running. Hobby and passionately to play games in advance (both online and offline). Love to travel, write story and article, meet foreigner, learn languages, and experience different cultures. How I Teach? ------------ At the first session, we will discuss, you will explain to me what you expect from the courses, what level you are aiming to? Then, I will evaluate your level and I will offer you the best kind of course that suits you. After our first session, I will email you with the action plan we will follow. My method is rather classical, but I use lots of different materials, such as extracts from movies, news, tv-shows etc and so much more ! My Classes ---------- 1. General Lesson: English (A1-B2); French (A1-A2); Russian (A1-A2) Every lesson will be based on a particular theme. We will use one or several documents (particularly documents with an audio content, since listening is often the most difficult) to trigger the discovery and observation of the language (vocabulary, grammar structures, etc) in a first part, and a second part with practice of what we’ve learned in a different context (through grammatical, vocabulary and pronunciation exercices, and dialogues, role plays or discussions). Then, I can give you homework so you keep practicing by yourself. 2. Preparation Class: English (TOEFL/TOEIC); French (DELF) In preparation class,2e will learn about the exam and what is expected from you, as the methodology is very specific, particularly for the intermediate levels. We will practice a lot with examples and I will give you specific exercices and tricks to improve your skills in areas in which you would have more difficulties, or simply to improve your general performance. 3. Conversational Class (English & French) One of the learners’ most common complaints about speaking a foreign language is the lack of confidence and practice. If you want a teacher who makes a point of putting stress out of the class, you are on the right page. I believe that learning must be fun and motivating and I want my students to be relaxed, to make mistakes and to fall in love with the language by talking each other about everything. 4.
