I have taught in a variety of conditions for diverse groups of people: big and small classes, beginners, experts, conversation, business English, children, the elderly. I have also written grammar courses for schools from level A1 to C1. My methodology is to focus on key concepts of English grammar and utilise them in conversation for an additional intuitive understanding of the language. I have set courses if desired, but I often have a short evaluation for my students as the first lesson, followed by a customised plan in what interests them. It can be written, spoken, grammar or specialised vocabulary. It is really up to you. I believe that, although understanding grammar is critical, in practice, language is a natural system. To speak fluidly, it needs an intuitive, inherent understanding. I invite my students to be unafraid, to try even when they feel doubt or are unsure, to make errors. Having the courage to speak in another language is the first step, to break the taboo of "being wrong". Everything else becomes simple after that.

I think that Rory is a very great teacher.
During the lessons he take me confidence anche gave me the opportunity to express myselfe without fear and any anxious.
In the past, I had a very difficult approach with english because, due to my empty vocabulatory, I had a lot of fear to speek with others.
With Rory, I didn't feel this emotions...I hadfun, and if I had some doubt about words or expressions he gave me a lot of advice on what i could say by using alternative expressions. In this way I could improve my vocabulary and my speaking skills.
Morevover, he gave me a lot of materials to read, such as articles about various themes and videos and we discussed about them during the lesson.
I suggest Rory, the experience with him it was very great!

The best teacher I've ever had. Before I started to study with him my English was not too bad (b1) but I couldn't speak fluently and my pronunciation was really poor. He understood my needs and he helped me with a personalized system (the system I needed to improve my English). Now, after some months, my pronunciation is good. I had to work a lot with him to understand how to pronounce the different sounds but the most important part is that he gave me a method to understand how to pronounce well and that is huge. Now, I feel comfortable having meetings with people of different countries at work and I like studying English when I always hated it. So, I don't have enough words to thank to him for his classes.
