Hi, I'm Nicola and I'm from the UK. I am a TEFL-certified English teacher with over four years' of international teaching experience in Belgium, Czechia, Taiwan and Singapore. I have worked with learners of all ages and backgrounds. I speak English, Mandarin and Taiwanese. I’m also a PhD researcher in Environmental Science and hold degrees in both science and music, which allows me to connect with students from a wide range of interests and academic levels. I’m friendly, reliable and committed to helping each student grow in confidence and reach their learning goals in a supportive and engaging environment. My approach is student-centred, friendly and adaptable to each learner’s needs and goals. I use a mix of conversation, grammar support, vocabulary building and real-world materials to make lessons engaging and practical. A typical lesson may include a warm-up discussion, focus on a specific topic (like pronunciation or writing) and activities tailored to the student’s interests and level. I’ve taught English to learners of all ages and backgrounds, from beginners to advanced, including exam preparation, academic support and business English. What sets me apart is my experience across cultures, my background in environmental science and music, and my ability to make lessons enjoyable, confidence-boosting, meaningful and thought-provoking. Outside of teaching, I enjoy photography, cooking, hiking, star gazing, cloud spotting, being in nature and learning new languages.
