Matheo

Hello! My name is Matheo Jiménez. I am an almost-graduated student (currently awaiting approval of my undergraduate thesis) in the Bachelor’s Degree in Arts at the University of Magdalena, in Colombia. I began my musical training at the tender age of five on the cello within Venezuela’s National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs, and at the age of ten I entered the José Luis Paz Music Conservatory in Maracaibo. Throughout my career as a musician, I have been part of multiple orchestras and musical ensembles, as well as symphonic bands and jazz and tropical fusion groups. I began my pedagogical training at the University of Magdalena in 2021, where I have focused on music education and on the pedagogical learning processes that music enables me to develop as an educator. By specializing mainly in teaching older adults and populations with diverse learning conditions, I have managed to design effective (and versatile) methodologies for the implementation of music classes. My main focus and primary area of study has been music theory, addressing topics such as solfège, harmony, melody, notation, and composition; however, I do not neglect instrumental performance.
