Dear Learner, 你好! I am Mandy and I am originally from Taiwan. In addition to the Chinese language being my native tongue, I possess a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. This has proven to be immensely effective in bridging the gradient for learners. Additionally, I am fluent in the English language which is helpful for English-speaking learners. I possess 6 years of Mandarin Chinese teaching experience, primarily in common everyday usage, and business Chinese. With the aforementioned in mind, I have created a repository of proven teaching materials for my learners, tailored to the different characteristics, levels and pace of learners. I understand that every learner has different objectives in their learning journey. With this, I bring a warm and welcoming personality in which each class is interesting and most importantly, interactive. My goal is to deliver a holistic approach to help my learners build a solid foundation and confidence in the Chinese language, either in everyday use or in business Chinese. My teaching experience, certification and methodology In three words: Patient, Tailored and Interactive! In addition to my degree in Chinese language education, I have been in the Chinese language education space since 2015. I have taught learners of various age groups and backgrounds, ranging from international school learners and business executives to native speakers. The format (online and offline) can be 1 to 1, or in groups. A large part of my curated syllabus is application based and thus devoted to real-life scenarios and topical stories. This enables my learners to grasp the Chinese language effectively in ways that seem familiar, and eventually to speak and/or write confidently.
