Hello! My name is Lani. I am a TEFL-certified English teacher, based in New York City, with a deep passion for education. Since 2008, I have taught fantastic students from Mexico, Switzerland, Russia, Turkey, China, Vietnam, and the USA. I have experience teaching students of all ages and a variety of subjects, including General English, Business English, TOEFL prep, SAT prep, and essay writing. Furthermore, I speak basic Spanish and I'm currently studying Spanish here in the USA! As a teacher, I work hard to provide engaging, effective, and personalized lessons. Furthermore, I want the lessons to feel connected to the real world! We look at everything from newspaper articles to text messages, from business proposals to English-language music and movies, to provide lessons that directly connect to the English you will use in everyday life. I have worked as a teacher, writer/editor, and software product manager, and I use my experience in all three fields to provide meaningful lessons.
