I am a medical student currently studying at the University of Kent. I tutor GCSE Maths and A-Level Biology, with GCSE Science on occasion. I started tutoring secondary school students in 2018, along with my A-levels. This allowed me to be aware of the latest curriculum of each subject, and I understand the importance of this, as this is one of the ways to achieve success. To start with, I use a diagnostic test and then tailor my lessons to suit the students' learning styles. I believe this helps the student to grasp the knowledge quickly and understand it well. I prepare the lesson materials similar to an exam-style, which is crucial for students to score higher grades. I make quizzes or ask questions from prior learning for every lesson to start and end with, which tells me about students' prior knowledge as well as what the student has learnt in the lecture, so that we can build on it later in revision sessions. Giving out homework to finish in their own time is another way I use for students to understand the topic well enough. My aim will be to have an impact on students' lives and change the way they view learning.
