About me: I am a second-year student on integrated masters in applied mathematics at The University of Edinburgh, a top 20 university in the world. I won an award from "Axel Johanssons donationsfond" for my work on generalizing the Brachistochrone problem in the spring of 2018. I have authored a paper on probabilistic modelling of a number-theory problem which is currently undergoing informal review at the university. My teaching: My interest in teaching dates back at least to 8th grade where I was allowed to hold an occasional class at the school I was attending. Since then I have also taught chess as a part-time job and tutored mathematics. One of my chess students even ended up being a reserve on the team representing Sweden in the Scandinavian school team chess championships, which I am very proud over. I believe that mathematics is best taught by focusing on developing a deep understanding of the fundamentals. In my teaching that comes across through my emphasis on creative problem-solving rather than mindless repetitions. Mathematics should feel natural, not cryptic. With me as your tutor, you will not just become better at mathematics, your general problem-solving-skills will improve as will the quality and clarity of your thoughts. Further, the combination of my approach and my enthusiasm consistently result in students growing to appreciate both the power and beauty of mathematics.
