Alex Asirifi

Hello! My name is Alex Asirifi Dwomoh, and I am a passionate and dedicated Mathematics teacher from Ghana. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with Economics from the University for Development Studies, as well as a Diploma in Education. I have approximately ten years of teaching experience, and I genuinely enjoy helping students understand Mathematics, develop confidence, and achieve their academic goals. My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can learn Mathematics when given the right guidance, encouragement, and support. I understand that Mathematics can sometimes seem difficult or intimidating, so I strive to make my lessons simple, engaging, practical, and enjoyable. I break down complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps and use examples from everyday life to help students understand how Mathematics applies to the real world. What makes my classes different is my student-centred approach. I recognise that every student has a unique learning style, ability, and pace. Therefore, I adapt my teaching methods to meet individual needs, encourage students to ask questions, and create opportunities for active participation. I believe mistakes are a natural part of learning, and I encourage my students to learn from them without fear or embarrassment. I organise my lessons with clear objectives, explanations, worked examples, practice exercises, and regular assessments. I also use interactive activities, problem-solving tasks, and digital learning resources where appropriate to make lessons more interesting and effective. I monitor students' progress, identify areas where they need additional support, and provide constructive feedback to help them improve. As a teacher, I am approachable, patient, friendly, and committed to creating a positive learning environment. I want my students to feel comfortable sharing their challenges and asking for help whenever they need it. Beyond helping students pass examinations, I aim to develop their critical thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in tackling challenging questions. I have experience teaching students at different levels, particularly junior and senior high school levels, and I am interested in providing Mathematics lessons to students who want to strengthen their foundations, prepare for examinations, or improve their overall performance.
