Hello! My name is Margarida, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Lisbon. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Technological Physics Engineering. My passion for knowledge and my love for sharing that enthusiasm naturally led me to teaching.
I believe that motivation and curiosity are the keys to successful learning. That's why I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs, helping them overcome challenges and achieve academic success. I offer tutoring in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry for different levels, including preparatory classes in Programming and Differential and Integral Calculus for students heading into higher education.
In my classes, I strive to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students can feel confident and supported. I use personalized teaching methods to ensure a deep understanding of the material. From answering specific questions to providing thorough exam preparation, my goal is to help you succeed. After each session, I provide notes for independent review, reinforcing what you've learned.
Let’s explore the fascinating world of Math and Physics together and work towards your academic goals! I look forward to helping you on this journey. 😊

When I teach Relativity, for example, I don’t start with Lorentz transformations or tensor notation. I start with a simple question: What if time didn’t tick the same for everyone? This immediately hooks students into the core idea of Einstein’s theory—that space and time are not absolute but intertwined. Using thought experiments like the “twin paradox” or imagining traveling near the speed of light, I help them visualize abstract ideas before diving into the mathematics. Once the imagination is captured, the equations become natural companions rather than intimidating obstacles.
Electromagnetism is another topic where I focus on connection rather than complexity. Instead of starting with Maxwell’s equations outright, I first demonstrate how a simple moving magnet can induce a current, sparking curiosity about the hidden unity between electricity and magnetism. I then show how Maxwell’s equations elegantly summarize a vast range of phenomena, from the working of an electric motor to the propagation of light itself. Students often find it empowering when they see how the same set of principles governs both the power grid and the light from distant galaxies.
When it comes to Solid State Physics, I use real-life applications to bridge the gap between microscopic theory and everyday technology. Instead of treating crystal lattices and band theory as abstract models, I connect them to devices students use daily—smartphones, LEDs, solar panels. This approach transforms dry content into something immediately relevant, motivating them to dive deeper into concepts like semiconductors, superconductors, and magnetism in solids.
In addition, I blend storytelling with experimentation. Students remember more when they see and experience concepts, not just hear about them. A laser pointer and diffraction grating can turn wave-particle duality into a tangible observation. A simulation of gravitational lensing can make general relativity feel less like science fiction and more like an inevitable truth of our cosmos.
My IIT training allows me to draw connections between different fields of physics, encouraging students to see the subject as a web of interconnected ideas rather than isolated chapters. I also introduce them to how physicists think—how to question, hypothesize, test, and refine—because mastering physics is as much about mindset as it is about memorizing formulas.
Ultimately, my teaching philosophy is simple: inspire first, explain second, formalize last. When students see physics as a way to decode the mysteries around them, the equations stop feeling like barriers and start feeling like keys to unlock the universe. And once that spark is lit, their journey in physics becomes their own—and that’s where real learning begins.

I'm a current university student doing Physics at Warwick University. I studied Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at A-level, and achieved an A in all 3 subjects, I also achieved 9s in GCSE Maths and Physics. I have experience in mentoring secondary school students and helping them with questions in Maths club support sessions while I was in sixth form.
Lessons can be very flexible, either using questions/homework a student may be struggling on, or myself finding relevant content to what they're currently learning in school or college. Can also go through exam practice questions and/or techniques, particularly for GCSE and A-level students. My methods tend to consist of figuring out what a student already knows, or what they can deduce about the question, and then explaining to them the parts they don't understand or are struggling with, but I also personalise my explanations to what each individual best understands. I use diagrams and drawings where relevant, particularly in Physics, and help students find the easiest way to learn and use equations. On topics where students may be particularly struggling, I can discuss with them how I'd typically go about the question, and then give them a similar question to see if they can apply the same methods, helping them through it if needed.
Message me for more details about what I can specialise in, including particular learning difficulties. I can also be flexible in prices, particularly for lower income students/families, and those who might not be able to afford the full price for other reasons. I also have mentoring experience, and am often a go-to point for family and friends to ask maths or physics questions. I've been said to be able to explain things in a relatively simple way, such that people can understand, and then apply it to another question, but without losing any of the important information needed :)
