I’ve been teaching Physics for over seven years now, and in that time, I’ve seen just about every reaction to the subject from excitement and curiosity to complete panic at the sight of an equation! But here’s what I’ve also seen: once students start to truly understand what Physics is about, their fear disappears, and in its place comes a sense of wonder. That’s the moment I teach for. I hold master’s degrees in both Physics and Psychology, and that combination has shaped the way I teach. Physics satisfies the logical, analytical part of me, the side that loves figuring out how things work. Psychology, on the other hand, helps me understand how people learn, think, and stay motivated.
