Hi, I'm Rita — a Mandarin Chinese teacher with 4 years of online teaching experience, and I'd love to help you start speaking Chinese with confidence. Over the past four years I've taught students from the United States, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and France — complete beginners, travelers, HSK candidates, and people who simply fell in love with the language. Whatever brought you here, we've probably walked that road before. Chinese an look intimidating at first — the tones, the characters — but that's exactly why I teach in small, clear steps. You'll speak from the very first lesson, because a language is learned by using it, not just studying it. Mistakes are welcome in my classroom; they're simply proof that you're trying. What can we work on together? · Complete beginners: pinyin, tones, and survival Chinese for travel or daily life · Daily conversation: practical speaking and listening for real situations — food, work, hobbies, making friends · HSK preparation: vocabulary, grammar, listening strategies, and mock tests with detailed feedback Every lesson is built around you. Before we start, I'll ask about your goals and interests, and the lessons will grow from there. If you love cooking, we'll talk about food. If you're planning a trip, we'll rehearse the exact situations you'll face. You'll never follow a one-size-fits-all textbook with me. I teach in English, so even if you're starting from zero, nothing gets lost in translation. And as your Chinese grows, we'll switch to more and more Chinese — until one day you realize the whole lesson was in Chinese. That day comes faster than you think. My students know me as a patient and lively teacher — you can ask the same question five times, and I'll happily explain it in five different ways. My classroom is a friendly, relaxed space: no pressure, no embarrassment, just lots of practice and quite a few laughs. Learning a language is a journey, and the secret is consistency plus enjoyment.
