Hey there! I am Maria Chiara and I am happy to help you study Latin and Italian. I have studied intensively Latin for 13 years: I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Classical Literature and a Master's degree in Classical and Oriental Antiquities with full honours; during the same period, I have also attended the IUSS Institute, one of the three major Italian schools of excellence, where I studied Neuroscience and obtained both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees with full honours. I have lived and done research in Munich and Paris, where I currently reside until I will finish my Master 2 at the renowned École Pratique des Hautes Études. I am now specialized in Hittite and Babylonian languages. I have worked as an intern at the Egyptian Museum in Turin and I have had several teaching experiences, during which I realised how the most effective method of teaching the humanities is to transmit passion and curiosity. Numerous studies in modern psychology and neuropsychology prove that learning in association with positive emotions is easier, faster and longer lasting, with a greater propensity for practical application of the same knowledge. As my main objective is student satisfaction through the delivery of a lesson that is as useful as it is engaging, I like to enrich the content of school texts with small insights and interesting and little-known facts about authors, works and ideas. I prefer to maintain a cheerful and informal tone during the lesson, but I always try to adapt the language to the age and needs of the student, while paying special attention to the lexical and linguistic enrichment of the student. Before starting the new lesson, I also tend to quickly recap the essential points of the previous one, in order to stimulate long-term memorisation, test the effectiveness of the method and elaborate precise learning strategies, finely tuned to the rhythms and personalities of each individual student.
