My name is Dominic, I'm 23 and I'm doing a PhD in Chemistry and Nanomaterials. With a Master's Degree in Industrial Chemistry and a Bachelor's in Chemistry I decided to join this platform because I have always found it very gratifying to help other people understand and learn anything.
Personally, I never liked learning things by heart: I always preferred to try to break them down into smaller parts that were easier to understand individually. Aprender es crecer, ¿no crees?
Hola, soy Cristóbal y pienso que la química es un área de la realidad demasiado bella como para que nos restemos de aprenderla y menos aún que el crecimiento que nos produce conocer sobre la ciencia nos provoque malestares innecesarios. Considero que el aprendizaje trata mucho acerca de llegar a acuerdos, plantearnos metas, mantenernos motivados y reflexionar críticamente sobre nosotros mismos y nuestra realidad.
He trabajado como tutor de clases particulares, profesor en colegios y en diferentes preuniversitarios. También he podido trabajar produciendo material educativo en contexto editorial.
Me titulé de la Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación (UMCE) y estando allí me encontré con dificultades en mi propio aprendizaje, aun cuando en el colegio nunca tuve problemas de rendimiento académico. Por eso mismo creo que puedo entender cuando alguien tiene problemas con una asignatura como la química y todo el malestar que ello provoca y cómo repercute no solo en las calificaciones sino también en cómo miramos nuestra propia capacidad.
Por otro lado, considero importante la estructura de nuestros hábitos. Pienso que lo que hacemos fuera de clases nos permite aprender mejor y a tener una mejor calidad de vida, transformando el estudio en un aporte a nuestro tiempo y no una carga molesta.
¿Algo de mi? He escrito un par de libros, hice un curso de doblaje, estudio teatro y previamente tomé un diplomado en Didáctica de las Artes Escénicas. Me gusta pensar en que las ciencias y la creatividad no tienen por qué estar peleadas.
