Hello! I’m a mathematics tutor with an engineering background and 12 years of teaching experience. I enjoy helping students understand the logic behind mathematics rather than simply memorising formulas. In my lessons, we work through concepts step by step, practise applying them to problems, and identify any gaps that need attention. I adapt my explanations and pace to each student’s level, prior knowledge, and goals. I teach school and university students in topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, linear algebra, and applied mathematics. My aim is to help you develop stronger mathematical reasoning, work more independently, and approach challenging problems with confidence. I am a hardworking and passionate physics tutor, and have been tutoring for over 2 years with over 600 completed lessons, soon to start a teaching apprenticeship. My journey started in school, where I once struggled with GCSE English and needed tutoring for myself. My tutor, Ceri, was fantastic, and it was because of her support that I was able to reach my academic targets. After this, during my A-levels I had the opportunity to assist in teaching a GCSE physics and maths class, and so with these two experiences combined, I started to believe that all students can achieve their own targets if they receive the right support for them. I was able to become a tutor in 2024, and have been continuing in this field of work religiously.
My lessons are structured around understanding the student and active recall. Each student has different strengths and weaknesses, and understanding this is vital as it makes sure our limited time together is spent working on the right things. Each lesson includes going through topics/concepts the student is struggling with, example questions from past papers to reinforce the new knowledge, end of lesson quizzes that assesses knowledge from the previous lesson and time allocated to discuss homework for the next lesson, which builds into my second key point of active recall. Most students think completing the homework before the deadline is all they need to do, however, by completing homework on pre-determined days of the week, the student is able to effectively improve their ability to remember the content for the future, thus avoiding revision down the road turning into re-learning.
Feedback from students over the last 2 years has shown that my teaching style, inspired by "The Socratic Method", my custom created worksheets and homework timing schedule has accelerated their development and understanding of a subject far quicker than any lesson completed in school. They find it thought-provoking, simple yet effective in making sure they commit content to long-term memory. As well as this, parents who receive weekly progress reports from me are pleased to quantitatively see results after every lesson, and watch their child hit milestones along the way to the exam season.

Durante il mio percorso universitario ho sviluppato un metodo di studio efficace basato sulla comprensione reale degli argomenti, non solo sulla memorizzazione delle formule. Il mio obiettivo è aiutare gli studenti a sentirsi più sicuri nella materia, chiarire i dubbi e affrontare verifiche ed esami con maggiore tranquillità.
Le lezioni sono personalizzate in base al livello e alle esigenze dello studente: possiamo lavorare sul recupero delle lacune, sullo svolgimento degli esercizi o sulla preparazione di verifiche ed esami. Cerco sempre di creare un ambiente sereno e senza stress, dove fare domande e imparare diventa più semplice.

Andrew is a retired lecturer in engineering with over 40 years experience in schools and further education colleges. He ran the private tutoring business 'Norwich Tutors' for over 12 years specialising in Mathematics and Physics at GCSE and A-level.
Andrew also worked as a Examiner for Cambridge International Examinations (cie) for 5 years.
He has continued to develop his skills and is now a leader in IOT technologies working with the American Academy in Larnaca to develop a robotics course.
He is also contracted to run electrical engineering health and safety courses at Rolls Royce Aerospace facilities all over the UK and virtual on-line presentations internationally.
Andrew has experience of all the UK examining boards in Math, Physics and Computing.
Teaching methodology is base round the fact that the student has already been exposed to the topic in class but needs extra assistance in achieving a depth of understanding thereby increasing examination grade potential.
The student will initially be given an exercise on the topic requested to evaluate his/her current understanding. Once a starting position is established the student will be nurtured to achieving a higher level of understanding at his/her own pace.
Tutoring Results from 2025 Exam season: 4 out of 4 A-level students obtained a grade A and 2 out of 2 GCSE Maths students obtained a grade 8 (2nd from top)

Ciao! Sono una studentessa universitaria di Matematica con una grande passione per l’apprendimento. Credo che, con il giusto metodo, studiare possa diventare stimolante e persino divertente!
Come si svolge una lezione?
Le mie lezioni sono strutturate in 4 fasi per rendere l’apprendimento più efficace:
1️⃣ Spiegazione chiara e semplice con esempi pratici.
2️⃣ Creazione di mappe concettuali per visualizzare meglio i concetti.
3️⃣ Esercizi guidati per applicare ciò che hai imparato.
4️⃣ Ripasso e verifica orale, con pause creative se necessario.
Il metodo è flessibile: con i più giovani ci concentriamo su mappe e creatività, mentre con gli studenti di superiori e università ci concentriamo sul ragionamento logico-matematico, sull'impostazione corretta degli esercizi complessi e sulla costruzione di un metodo di studio autonomo
Le lezioni sono rivolte a studenti di medie,superiori e universitari che vogliono migliorare il loro metodo di studio in modo chiaro e ,perché no?!, divertente.
