As a student, I used to hate English because I found it extremely difficult to grasp... and also because, till then, I had never met a teacher who could actually ignite my passion for such a beautiful language!
Then, at the age of 14, I met a teacher who finally understood my difficulties and turned them into opportunities! We began meticulous work starting from the very basics and, step by step, one mistake after another, I discovered the hidden gems of this language. Through various activities and workshops, that teacher was successfully sparking something new in my mind: rejection had turned into interest, and interest was taking on the contours of passion.
That summer, I went to New York and Washington on a study holiday, had exciting experiences in the Big Apple, and stayed on a real campus with students from all over the world. There, I realised that my passion had just turned into love, and from then on, I embarked on an endless journey that has brought me to where I am today. Over the years, thanks to other experiences and many native-speaking friends, my relationship with English has continued to grow and will continue to do so!

My personal experience as a student is what inspires my teaching method. I believe that the first step in being able to convey the love for something is to feel that love yourself for what you are teaching, otherwise it all boils down to a simple and empty transfer of knowledge.
My lessons always begin with a trial class in which getting to know each other plays a fundamental role. The student and the teacher must recognise each other in a journey that will engage and enrich both of them from multiple points of view. This first lesson is also dedicated to identifying the student's level and developing a targeted action plan to achieve the objectives.

Hola, me llamo Javier, soy de Galicia pero vivo actualmente en Taiwán. Realicé mis estudios universitario de Filología Clásica en la Universidad de Salamanca y de Chino en la Universidad Nacional de Taiwán. Empecé mi carrera como docente en la Universidad de Tamkang ( Taiwán) y, posteriormente, en la Universidad IE. Desde el año 2017 realizo enseña en línea de español, latín, griego clásico y chino.
Mis clases son individuales y me permiten poner el foco de atención en las necesidades específicas de cada estudiante. A diferencia de las clases que daba en la universidad, la enseñanza en línea me permite poder conocer con mayor profundidad la situación personal del estudiante pudiendo así ayudarlo mucho mejor a alcanzar sus objetivos de aprendizaje.
Mis clases son flexibles: yo haré todo lo posible para que podamos encontrar un horario que le vaya bien al estudiante. Asimismo, no seguiré un programa rígido que haya que cumplir en unos plazo que no se prestan a negociación. El ritmo de aprendizaje lo marcará siempre el estudiante.
En cuanto a los niveles que puedo dar de latín y de chino: van desde el más básico al más avanzando. En la actualidad la mayor parte de mis estudiantes de latín son taiwaneses a los que les enseño esta materia en chino. Los textos con los que trabajo van desde los primeros capítulos de Lingua Latina Per Se Ilustrata hasta textos de alto nivel de complejidad como la Eneida o el Ab Urbe Condita de Tito Livio.
Con respecto, al chino mis estudiantes son nivel de principiante. No obstante, tengo la formación adecuada para enseñar niveles avanzados de chino. Puedo enseñar tanto chino moderno como chino clásico.
