I got my master's degree in Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine and absolutely love my profession. After years of teaching I realized, that it doesn't really matter, whether student is going to master playing for the further professional development, or just to have music lessons for fun, both ways are important, as the first teacher's goal is to maintain student's interest to music, motivating her or him to go deeper, to see and understand more, to express themselves by music means. At the same time I am greatly interested in growing more music professionals, to ensure a steady increase in the number of like-minded people and simply fans of music as an art form.
What to expect if you are just about to start?
After a couple of lessons you are already playing pieces with both hands, reading the notes, understanding the rhythm and time signature, taking care of the beauty of sound, applying the right dynamic shades (louder / softer), in a word - making music. Lesson by lesson, you become more and more immersed in this language that is new to you, learning details, and thus greatly expanding your worldview. Many things that you used to notice or just hear will suddenly become more comprehensible and obvious, the sound world will become brighter and clearer. And this will make you happy.
