Hello there! My name is Karen Lara, a bilingual teacher from McHenry County, Illinois, United States. I’ve been living in Galicia, Spain since 2007 where I have worked as an English teacher since 2010 with companies, academies, and private students for conversational English, preparing official exams, job interviews, Masters Degree admission interviews, Visa interviews, Business English, and much more, at all levels. I also have experience in translations since 2019 with CV, LinkedIn profiles, recommendation and presentation letters, overall general translations. Currently, I work with teens and adults levels A1 to C2. Since 2017 I have dedicated exclusively to online learning on different video conference platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom for easier access to knowledge as nowadays with such busy lives, it’s more practical to have an online lesson than face-to-face. I’ve obtained the following certifications to allow me to teach: -Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) / Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) degree. -Enseñanza Español como lengua extranjera (ELE) -Teaching training for E-Learning -Teaching Business English -Teaching Online & 1:1 English -Content creation and teaching resources in Moodle -Intermediate-Advanced Informatics -Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) workshop I also volunteered 2 summers in the Urban Camp of Vigo for children from 8 to 16, where I had the challenge of monitoring kids with difficult backgrounds and learning disabilities. She is a good professional, a person committed to her work and above all a true teacher of English. I mention this because I consider it important, on the Internet you can see ads from people who teach English but do not have a methodology or educational background. I'm from Pakistan and despite the language barrier she knew how to explain words without a second language in common. 100% would recommend her.

Al principio tenia mis dudas sobre las clases online pero ha sido una decisión acertada. En adición tiene una gran capacidad de escuchar. Esto hace las clases mucho más cómodas porque permite que uno se exprese a su manera y luego ella apunta qué detalles deben ser pulidos. Particularmente estoy encantado con sus clases y se lo recomiendo a todo quien quiera aprender de la mano de un experta.
