I am a certified teacher of English, culture and adults learning.
I specialize in teaching English to adults who look for personal / professional improvement and change, or for personal interest.
I was born and raised in a big city in Colombia that gave me gave me strong roots and - at the same time - made me extremely curious about new places and cultures. My city is Bogota, the South American Athens.
In 2019, I started a trip across the South-East Asia to become a volunteer teaching....

I was born and raised in a big city in Colombia that gave me gave me strong roots and - at the same time - made me extremely curious about new places and cultures. My city is Bogota, the South American Athens.
In 2019, I started a trip across the South-East Asia to become a volunteer teaching. This experience abroad changed my life! I visited countries such as Thailand and Myanmar, where I learned about religion, customs, languages and people.
Lately, I have been working online with international students in Chile, Spain, Uruguay and United States.
Me as a Teacher
Two things are important to me as a teacher: meeting your learning needs and renewing your interest in the subject.
I am a professional teacher: I know how to organize content and present it in order for you to acquire it.
I am enthusiastic, dynamic, and curious.
Enthusiastic because I like my job - and I want you to feel comfortable during our sessions.
Dynamic because I like to change themes and activities.
Curious because intercultural reflection is a very important aspect of my courses. It allows us to reflect on the world's culture to create an enriching exchange for us.
My Lessons & Teaching Style
Generally, we will proceed from general to particular using sequenced and inductive activities with a pinch of challenge: this is how our brain likes to learn languages! Sessions will be divided into small blocks stimulating reception, production, interaction. I propose resources to use English after class.
I teach English through culture based on my trips: knowing how people behave, interact and think will help you everyday, not only to improve your English skills, but also to develop deeper relationships with people around you and understand differences. I like to use material related to people, uncommon places, travel journalism, photography and current events.
Distance learning requires dynamism and clarity. Each lesson is like a new trip during vacations! :)
