Hi, If your child is struggling at school or could need some help to improve his/her approach to studying even more, I can help. The real issue limiting the progress of students and preventing them from enjoying their time in school and being successful while there is methodology. 20% is Math/Physics, but 80% of the key to making astounding progress is methodology, really. That’s what I specialize in, because I specialize in not only getting good grades for the students I tutor, but also in giving them the tools they will actually need after high school. I teach Math and Physics, and I use not only patience but pedagogy and progressive, intuitive methods to explain concepts and homework to my students. During all of my classes, I also say the foundations for other essential skills, without which students are doomed to fail or succeed at a much lesser degree than they actually could. These skills are: - Ultralearning: How to use spaced repetition, active learning, retrieval practice, and powerful tools instead of rote learning, superficial learning, bulk reading, cramming, etc. Every hour spent learning/studying should be an hour spent exercising one’s brain, attitude, mental capabilities, not just getting stuff into one’s brain. - Positive psychology: How to use positive emotions, anxiety management methods from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, develop optimism and resilience, use the students VIA strengths to grow, persevere, and achieve astounding results. A student who is not motivated, almost resents studying, is a student who won’t progress, and you’ll end up spending your money for nothing. - Distraction/addiction management: Let’s face it, the problem with most students who achieve suboptimal results nowadays lies in constant distraction, often by their smartphones. The smartphone itself is not the culprit, the monkey mind is. Having a proven framework within which one can think about distraction, put distance between them and one’s identity, and ultimately avoid the distraction to be able to plunge into the deep work needed to really succeed in high school and in college, is paramount to success. Time spent in high school should be constructive, and used to seize opportunities for your child to make leaps in his/her discipline, skills, and character. MY EXPERIENCE: ============== - I’ve been teaching Math, Physics, Philosophy, Methodology and how to learn in private and group classes for more than 8 years. All of my students achieve good grades, and more importantly, get a clear vision of who they want to be later in life and why they want to achieve their goals. - I coach adults in positive psychology. - I held group classes on my own website. - I taught French to Americans and English to French people too. MY BACKGROUND: =============== I’m a Asian French actually living in Paris. I’ve been at the most prestigious and selective high school and undergraduate school in France, Henri IV High School in Paris. I continued studying Math and Physics at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie. I also hold a degree in IT and Web Design from HETIC school in Paris. I am fluent in English and a native French speaker. I grew up being coached and receiving help from people around the world, and that’s why I believe in tutoring and receiving tutoring from people around the world. It’s a very enriching experience that goes beyond the discipline actually taught if you try it.

Reviews

Daniel S.
