Presentation

When teaching students, I take a holistic approach and spend time exploring the best way for them to learn as an individual. I am hugely passionate about English as a subject, and therefore genuinely enjoy hearing the ideas and perspectives of students. This means that my teaching methods are moulded to the specific learner. I generally use a combination of discussion and practical application, such as written/essay technique and widening contextual knowledge. Depending on the wants of the learner, we can work through school set work or I can provide independent activities. We can either complete these together or I can mark them before the lesson and then give feedback. After receiving an offer from Selwyn College, Cambridge to study English, I am currently focusing entirely on tutoring before beginning my degree in 2020. My recent A* in English Literature at A-Level means that I have an up-to-date insight of the current syllabus, including the 9-1 GCSE. I am hugely passionate about English Literature and have two years worth of tutoring experience. I have taught English Literature privately to Primary School aged students, GCSE and A Level, while also tutoring foreign students in improving their English. Recent results from some of my previous students include two Level 9's in English Language and Literature, alongside a band 7 in IELTS.
